Matelassé (rose quilting)
【Matelassé】: the French word for quilting
Using a double-weave (cloqué) technique, in which 2 layers of fabric, face and back, are woven as though joined together with thread, the difference in yarn shrinkage creates a puffed texture, finishing the fabric with a raised "rose pattern" reminiscent of sashiko stitching. Woven-in film yarn adds a subtle, elegant sparkle.
As if lost in a deep forest, wrap yourself in the form of a fragile heroine who has alighted in a world of fantasy. We invite you to savor the Matelassé Rose series, with its rose pattern full of enveloping warmth and shimmer.
